Introduction & Objectives

Transportation Database

Internal collaboration with our research side creating a consolidated database with all things transportation. Site WILL help senators and the general public access information related to Unitrans arrival/departure/late times, parking lot usage, most active spin scooter locations/times, and more. Includes API endpoints+public documentation so other students and ASUCD can use internally.

Saferide Project

Working with UCDPD and Saferide services, IRL is planning a survey to gauge student experiences with Saferide. In conjunction with data collected from the new saferide app, IRL is analyzing pain points for saferide and strategizing data-driven ways to improve the service.

Aggies on the Moove - Bike Counters

As part of the transportation project, IRL is working with campus partners to install permanent bicycle counters around campus. These counters will offer valuable data for campus planners and researchers, providing the a first-of-its-kind opportunity to comprehensively study bike use on campus.

Aggies on the Moove

Working with Unitrans, EPI,  DOTS, ITS, Campus Planning, Capitol Corridor, Yolo County Transit District, and SPIN bike, IRL research is working on a state of the art transportation database and yearly report. We are analyzing public/private transportation, micromobility, and greater connections to regional planning/goals for transportation in Davis. This project will better connect transportation data in Davis, and provide an opportunity for better transportation planning, resulting in an interactive website.

UC Davis Mobile App

Working with Campus IT to rebuild this app from the ground up using React Native. Our planned MVP is focuses on

1. UNITRANS: Replicating existing features. Improve accuracy

2. MAP: Simple Room booking, Class Schedule Map

3. EVENTS: Feed of official campus events and club events

4. MENU: Campus DC Menus, favorite/review food items
